Each year, active members can nominate themselves for an elected position. The election for President and Treasurer takes place at the fall meeting of odd-numbered years. The election for Vice President and Secretary occurs during the fall meeting of even-numbered years.
Anytime after the spring meeting, an active member may:
- Mail a letter to CMERA, P.O. Box 11026, Cincinnati, OH requesting their name be placed on the ballot for the position.
- Send an email to hello@cmera.org requesting their name be placed on the ballot for the position.
In the spring newsletter, a notice is placed informing members of the next election and the nomination procedure. A reminder notice is also posted on our chatroom about a month prior to nominations deadline.
Deadline for nominations is July 1. This allows time for a ballot to be created and placed in the fall newsletter. Active members may then vote as instructed in that newsletter.
If more than one nomination is received for a position, the candidates may be asked to provide a brief statement about why they want to serve in that position.
If no member submits a nomination for a position by the deadline, no ballot will be prepared. Nominations may then be requested from the floor during the fall meeting followed by a voice vote. Should a position become vacant, the Executive Committee may appoint an active member to the position for that term.
