Here is a brief update about the recent meeting with Judge Barrett, the City of Cincinnati, and the plaintiffs’ attorneys, regarding enforcement of the Collaborative Settlement Agreement. This meeting with the Judge was held October 22nd.
The judge asked the City to explain the new health care program to everyone and the City attorneys were not able to talk in detail about the program.
The judge told the City to have Anthem to come to the next meeting the following week or the week thereafter. The City missed the following week and as of this correspondence have not notified the courts when they will have Anthem available to meet.
From what I was told both the Retiree Class and the Active Class attorneys are concerned about what the City is doing as well as failing to do and expressed that to the judge.
The Retiree Class attorneys have written the City attorneys a letter questioning when the meeting will be scheduled.
In my opinion, the City is dragging this on as their common mode of operation on just about everything.
We are waiting for the judge to force the City to comply in order for him to make some decisions on several items pending.
Katz Teller attorneys are still the court appointed attorneys representing the Retiree Class and have been working hard for this group.
