The Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati Retirement System recently transmitted a report to the Mayor and City Councilmembers regarding the current state of the system. This report was discussed and finalized at the Board’s January 23, 2020 meeting, and thus it is a public record. The Board members have serious concerns about the longterm financial outlook for both the Retirement and Healthcare plans, and they sent the report to alert the Mayor and Councilmembers to these concerns.
You can download and read this report, as well as a subsequent letter from CRS Board Chairman Tom Gamel to City Manager Patrick Duhaney, regarding the policy that was to have been developed by the city for funding of the Healthcare Trust. Finally, there is a letter to Judge Barrett, approved by the Board at its February meeting, conveying the report to Council to the court.
