Election 2024

Your vote is important.  Please exercise you right to vote on issues and elect people to represent you in government and the courts.

Fall 2024 Meeting

It was nice to see many members at our Fall General meeting last month.  The Executive Committee members gave presentations on:

  • 2024 goals
  • Proposed 2025 goals
  • 2024 budget status
  • 2025 proposed budget
  • Elections (CRS and CMERA)
  • New dental plan option for retirees and dependents
  • Member Portal option offered by CRS to retirees
  • Status of Collaborative Settlement Agreement

As always, time is allotted for members to ask questions.  Members asked about:

  • New dental plan option
  • E-mailing our newsletter to save money
  • Futures Commission
    • Will OPERS take CRS?
    • Recourses if merger approved
    • It was reported that the current pension liability is $850M
  • Term limits for CRS Trustees
  • Gathering signatures to run for CRS Board
  • Resolving outstanding issues with the CSA

The Spring 2025 General Meeting

The Spring General Meeting will be on May 10, 2025, at the First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati, Reading Rd and Linton Avenue.  Social hour starts at 9:00 a.m.

City Council Member

Mr. Evan Nolan recently was recently appointed to City Council to replace Reggie Harris who resigned for a new job.  Mr. Harris served as Chairperson of the City Finance Committee, an important Committee that usually addresses pension issues.  The Mayor has appointed Jeff Cramerding to head this important Committee.

Retirement Board of Trustees

The Retirement Board met on October 3 in regular session.  They approved a monthly financial report and discussed a possible Ordinance to modify the term limits for Retirement Board members.
